Scholarships for Students with Disabilities - www.nhfdc.nic.in

NHFDC - National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation is inviting applications from the students with disabilities on behalf of Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India.

Highlights of this Scheme:

• 1500 students with disabilities will be eligible for the scholarships for degree , PG level professional and technical courses from recognized institutions in India. 
• Annual income of the family (including beneficiary) from all sources should not be more than INR 3.00 Lakh ( i.e. Rs. 25000/- p.m.)
• 30% of the scholarships is reserved for girls.
• The beneficiary should not avail scholarships/stipend for pursuing the course.

Application Procedure:

• The applicant should apply for the scholarship online. Click here to go to the official web site.
• A printout of the filled application must be taken.
• Along with required documents duly countersigned and recommended by the head of the institution, where the applicant is studying.
• All these must be sent to: 

 National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation (NHFDC),

NOTE: Without a hard copy of application, a candidate’s application in soft copy will not be entertained.

Required Documents / Documents to be enclosed:

• Marks Record: Attested Marks Card/Certificates of the qualifying examination
• Income Proof: Latest salary slip of parent/guardian, acknowledgement of income tax/income certificate e from revenue official/gazetted officer/public representative e.g. MP, MLA, MLC, Panchayat officials etc.
• Attested copy of Disability Certificate.
• Copy of fee receipt.
• Receipt/Invoice of eligible assistive devices duly countersigned by the authorized signatory of the institution.
• In case of continuation of scholarship in a succeeding year, a copy of the mark sheet of the preceding year.

Processing of Applications:

(a)	The procedure for processing of applications will be outsourced to a reputed agency;
(b)	All the applications will be processed in a time bound manner;
(c)	The applications scrutinized by the authorized agency shall be placed  before a screening committee periodically for final award of scholarships;
(d)	Income certificate is to be submitted by the student only once i.e. at the time of sanction of scholarship
